Twelve years on one island
Horizon Cruises Phuket has operated here for twelve years, with around 2,400 charters completed. The office is in Chalong. That length of time in one place matters in a charter market for a practical reason: the people who answer your message know the boats physically, know the crews by name, and know which anchorage is wrong in a north wind.
A company that has been trading for a season cannot know those things, and a large international platform does not need to. The team works in English, Russian and Thai.
Our three yachts, about eighty we work with
We run three yachts ourselves: Technema 89 Say Yes and Ferretti 80 Sofia from Chalong Pier, and Beluga 88 from Ao Po Grand Marina. Beyond those three we work with about eighty boats across the island, from speedboats at ฿18,900 to superyachts.
The distinction matters when something changes on the day of a charter: on our yachts the decision is ours and it is immediate. On a partner boat we are the ones who make the call on your behalf, which is still one step shorter than booking through a platform based in another time zone.
What you actually deal with
One manager from the first message to the pier, in English or Russian. A written quote with one final figure in Thai baht and an explicit list of what is not in it — no fuel surcharge and no service fee added afterwards. A named boat with a link to its page, its licensed capacity and its own price table, rather than a category and a promise.
The departure marina named at booking with a map pin, because Phuket has no single yacht harbour and the pier depends on where your boat is berthed. And the option to view any boat in the catalogue in person, free, before you pay a deposit.
Terms, stated before you ask
A 50% deposit confirms a booking and the balance is paid on the day of the charter — not weeks in advance, which is common elsewhere on this island. Cancellation thirty days or more before the date returns the deposit in full; twenty-nine days or less does not. Payment by Visa, Mastercard and UnionPay, bank transfer to the company account, USDT and other cryptocurrency, in baht, dollars or roubles, with an online payment link sent alongside the confirmation.
On weather: if the Thai Marine Department prohibits departure you choose between a full refund and a new date. If departure is permitted but the route you booked is not workable, the captain offers an alternative, and the route is always the captain's call.
How to check a charter company in Phuket
Four questions separate an operator from a reseller, and they work on us as well as on anyone else. Ask for the name of the specific boat, not a category. Ask for its licensed capacity and compare it with your group.
Ask for one final figure in baht with the exclusions written out. Ask which marina it leaves from — a company that works with real boats knows, because it knows where they are berthed. If the answers arrive slowly or vaguely, that is the answer. We are open around the clock and reply within the hour between 08:00 and 22:00.
