A burl-panelled saloon, three decks, five bathrooms

In the saloon the bulkheads and the overhead are polished burl veneer, with carpet underfoot, wooden blinds on the windows and the air conditioning running all day. A long dining table with a rounded top stands along the tall windows, a row of white armchairs around it and the bar behind; further in, two white sofas face each other across two low tables, with a television on the bulkhead. One big table and two small ones, so a group can eat and spread out at the same time.

Below are four cabins, open to guests through the day with the air conditioning on: somewhere to change, somewhere out of the sun, somewhere to put a child down for an hour. Three are king-size and the fourth takes two single beds, panelled in the same veneer, with buttoned leather headboards, reading lights and oval portholes. One of the doubles has its bathroom opening straight off it, the walls tiled in small mosaic. There are five bathrooms, and all five are open to guests during the day rather than kept back for the overnight cabins. Overnight she sleeps eight, and two days with one night start at 360,000 baht.

Five crew work the day — captain, hostess, two deckhands and a charter manager — all of them ours, and the manager speaks Russian. Thai lunch on full days, soft drinks, tea and coffee, fresh fruit and a case of beer are inside the rate.

The flybridge runs the full width, teak underfoot and open on both sides, with a navy awning on a polished frame over two long curved sofas and a low table. The aft deck sits under a solid overhang with recessed downlights: an oval table, a curved bench along the rail, folding wooden chairs. Both of the places where people sit and eat are out of the sun; the foredeck is left open, with a padded mat on it.

Eighty-nine feet, three decks. The day rate covers twelve guests and thirty is the maximum, so a group booked at the base rate has the aft deck, the saloon and the flybridge to spread across instead of one space. She cruises at 11 knots and tops 30.

Included: a water slide, a floating pool, two SUP boards, a wakeboard and kneeboard, a towable donut for one or two, snorkelling gear and a 4.5 m tender. Bring your own spirits, there is no corkage; red wine is the one thing that does not come aboard. Children are taken at any age and their life jackets are on board, but the rails have no netting, so the smallest ones need an adult beside them.

A maximum of thirty guests across three decks also makes her a boat for an occasion, a large birthday or a wedding or a company day; a DJ, decorations, photography and video are arranged separately on request.

She leaves from Chalong Pier: Coral Island with Promthep Cape, or Maiton, on a half day; Racha Yai and Racha Noi, Phi Phi, or Koh Hong in Phang Nga Bay on a full one. High-season half days start at 100,000 baht and full days at 140,000; from 20 December to 20 January full days run 180,000 to 220,000, and low-season rates are on request. Twelve guests are in the rate and each one after that is 2,000 baht, to a maximum of thirty: a high-season full day to Coral Island for thirty comes to 176,000 baht.

That figure carries fuel on the agreed route, the crew, drinks, fruit, beer, towels, Wi-Fi and passenger insurance. Thai lunch and one return transfer for up to 10 guests belong to full days, and half days include neither. National park fees of 400 baht per person per day apply on the Phi Phi, Krabi and Phang Nga routes, and an extra hour is 15,000.

Horizon Cruises Phuket owns her and runs her. She was built in 2004 and refitted in 2023, and charters run between 09:00 and 19:00. A 50% deposit holds the date: cancelled 30 days ahead or more, it comes back in full; later than that, it does not. If the group runs past twelve, the manager works the final figure out before the charter rather than after it, and it can be asked for on WhatsApp.
