Yacht Management in Phuket by an Owner-Operator
Horizon Cruises Phuket manages yachts for owners the same way we run our three: Technema 89 "Say Yes", Beluga 88 and Ferretti 80 "Sofia" work in charter under our care year-round. Management costs a monthly fee per foot — ฿700 on Basic or ฿1,200 on Professional, plus 7% VAT — and from every charter you receive 75% of the price. Twelve years in Phuket, 2,400 completed charters, a team of sixteen — and we speak Russian, English and Thai.
What does yacht management include?
There are two packages. Both include:
- Charter management. Your yacht joins our catalogue of around 80 boats on a two-language website and our booking channels. Enquiries, bookings, guest communication, payments and cancellations are on us.
- Repair and maintenance assessment. What the yacht needs, when and at what cost — agreed with you before any work starts.
- Weekly start-up of all systems.
- Weekly leak checks below and above the waterline.
- A monthly report: charter income, every expense with invoices, upcoming maintenance.
Professional also includes monthly hull, deck and interior cleaning, provisioning for your own trips, and crew management — captain and crew selection, contracts and day-to-day supervision. On Basic, cleaning is available on request; Basic suits owners who already employ a permanent captain and engineer.

Prices exclude 7% VAT. For catamarans, the price per foot is 50% higher.
On request, we also arrange licence and insurance renewals, marina contracts, haul-outs and yard work; the owner pays for these.
How does it work?
- Inspection. We look at the yacht, its systems and documents, and tell you honestly what it needs before it can take guests.
- Agreement. A management contract in Russian or English: the package, owner's weeks, reporting and the exit terms.
- Preparation. Any work the inspection showed, crew, licences, photographs and a listing on our site.
- Operation. The yacht takes charters; we run everything on board and ashore.
- Reporting. Monthly statement and a call whenever you want one.
Which yachts do we take?
Motor yachts, sailing yachts, power and sailing catamarans from 30 to 80 ft; larger yachts on individual terms. The yacht should be in a condition to take guests, or we agree on the work to get it there. We manage a small number of yachts at a time so that each one gets the same attention as our own.
Where will the yacht be based?
In your marina. We work across Phuket's marinas and at Chalong, where our yachts depart from. If you have not chosen a berth yet, we will recommend one for your yacht's size and the routes it will run. An overview of the island's marinas is in our article where yachts depart from in Phuket.
How much does it cost?
The cost has two parts: a monthly fee per foot and 25% of each charter price.
Monthly fee. Basic is ฿700 per foot per month and Professional ฿1,200, plus 7% VAT. For catamarans, the price per foot is 50% higher. A 50 ft motor yacht costs ฿35,000 a month on Basic or ฿60,000 on Professional, plus VAT.
Each booking. Of the charter price, 10% goes to our charter management and 15% to the partner who brought the guests — a hotel, villa, travel company or yacht broker; we pay partners ourselves, out of these 25%. You receive 75%.
For example, on a ฿100,000 charter: ฿10,000 goes to management, ฿15,000 to the partner and ฿75,000 to you. Out of your ฿75,000 you pay that charter's fuel and food and drinks.
What our 25% covers: marketing including paid advertising, booking management, back office, provisioning and catering for charters, passenger insurance, post-charter cleaning and laundry, and the repair and maintenance assessment.
What the owner pays: yacht insurance, licences, monthly berthing fees, maintenance and repairs, fuel, crew, and food and drinks for charters. Every expense is in the monthly report.
The exact terms depend on the yacht, its age and how many weeks a year it will be available for charter — ask, and we will send a proposal within two working days.
Why do Russian-speaking owners choose us?
Because the contract, the reports, the calls and the arguments about a generator are all in your language. Of the management companies working in Phuket today, we are the only one where the owner deals with a Russian-speaking team from the first meeting to the monthly statement. English and Thai are there too — for the crew, the marina and the authorities.
How does a yacht under our management look?
The three yachts below are ours. They are the standard we keep.
- Technema 89 "Say Yes" — 89 ft, refit 2023, up to 30 day guests, from ฿100,000 per day.
- Beluga 88 — 88 ft, renovated 2026, up to 22 day guests, from ฿214,000 per day.
- Ferretti 80 "Sofia" — 80 ft, refit 2025, up to 25 day guests.
Owners' questions
Can I still use my yacht myself?
Yes. Owner's weeks are written into the contract and blocked in the calendar before the season opens.
How much of each charter does the owner receive?
75% of the charter price. Of the other 25%, 10% goes to our charter management and 15% to the partner who brought the guests.
Who pays for repairs?
The owner. We arrange maintenance and repairs in your name, agree larger jobs with you in advance with a quote, and show every invoice in the monthly report.
What if the yacht is not in charter condition yet?
The inspection produces a list and an estimate. You decide what to do and when; we supervise the work.
How quickly will the yacht start earning?
It depends on the yacht's condition and the season. The high season in Phuket runs from November to April; a yacht listed by October is usually booked for the high season.
What is the smallest yacht you take?
30 ft. Up to 80 ft we work on the packages above; larger yachts on individual terms.
How do I stop?
On the notice period written in the contract. The yacht, its documents and the accounts are handed back in order.
