Under ฿80,000: eleven yachts
The entry band, and more capable than the price suggests. Ocean Pearl from ฿33,900 for ten guests is a 2024 sport cruiser taking up to twenty at thirty knots. Mami Wata from ฿45,900 for eight is a restored 1954 Halvorsen for up to twelve. Siam Princess from ฿55,000 for twenty carries up to fifty guests, more than any motor yacht here except the 170-foot Vanora. Bertram 50 from ฿60,000 is the steady one in open water.
Azimut 46 from ฿59,000 cruises at twenty-six knots for eight. Azimut Atlantis from ฿64,000 for eight is the sports option for up to eleven. Princess V39 ANFIELD from ฿69,900 suits six.

฿80,000 to ฿160,000: eleven yachts

Capacity is a licensed figure per boat and it is printed on each yacht's page. Across motor yachts it runs from six to eighty. For six to ten guests the widest choice sits under ฿110,000.
For fifteen to twenty, look at Princess 65, Olympia 76, Beluga 88 and Seascape 2. For twenty-five to thirty, Technema 89 Say Yes and Ferretti 80 Sofia; The Origin 90 also takes thirty. Above thirty, four motor yachts qualify — Sea Bear at forty, SPLO 74 Chowa at forty-five, Siam Princess at fifty and Vanora at eighty — and beyond that the answer is a catamaran or two boats in company. A boat rated for twelve takes twelve, not fourteen, and the crew will not sail over the figure.
Which marina yours leaves from
Motor yachts are spread across four marinas, and that decides which islands are convenient. From Chalong Pier on the south coast the natural days are Coral Island, Maiton, the Racha group and Phi Phi. From Ao Po Grand Marina on the north-east it is Phang Nga Bay, Koh Hong, the Koh Yao islands and the Krabi side.
Boat Lagoon Marina and Royal Phuket Marina sit next to each other on the east coast and serve the same directions as Ao Po, with faster boats also reaching the southern islands. Which marina do motor yachts leave from in Phuket?
The boat decides. Is the rate for the whole boat or for each guest?
For the whole boat. Every motor yacht here is priced per boat, not per guest: the rate covers the group up to the headcount shown on each yacht's page. Some boats include a set number of guests in the base rate and charge for each extra guest up to the licensed limit; the yacht's page shows the steps. The captain and crew are inside the figure, which you receive in Thai baht, and so is fuel for the agreed route except where a yacht's page lists a fuel fee.
Do I need a licence to charter a motor yacht in Phuket?
No. Every charter is skippered: a licensed captain and crew come with the boat, there is no bareboat option, and guests need no licence or boating experience. Crew numbers vary with the yacht: Grand Banks Sambuca sails with a crew of four and Cranchi 58 Scenery with a crew of four, and the list is on each yacht's page. You agree the route with the captain, who decides on the day whether the sea allows it.
What does the motor yacht rate include?
On every boat the rate covers the captain and crew, passenger insurance, soft drinks and water, masks and fins for snorkelling and towels, plus fuel for the route you agree except where a yacht's page lists a fuel fee. Lunch, alcohol, water toys and the hotel transfer depend on the boat and are listed on its page, with a price beside anything that is not included. How fast are the motor yachts, and does speed matter?
Speed decides how far a full day reaches. The quickest here is De Antonio D50, which tops out at 47 knots; Ocean Pearl runs at 30 knots with twenty guests aboard, and Azimut 46 cruises at 26. From Boat Lagoon and Royal Phuket Marina the faster boats also reach the southern islands, which the slower yachts on the east coast leave to Ao Po's directions.
