Forty yachts, and how to narrow them down

Motor yachts are the largest part of the fleet: forty boats from forty-two to a hundred and seventy feet, carrying six to eighty guests, from ฿33,900 a day. That is too many to compare one by one, and the useful order is always the same. Start with how many people are coming, because licensed capacity removes more options than anything else.

Then decide day or overnight, which decides whether cabins matter at all. Then set a budget band. Only after that does the individual boat matter. A manager will do this in one message if you send the three numbers, but the sections below let you do it yourself.

Under ฿80,000: ten yachts

The entry band, and more capable than the price suggests. Ocean Pearl from ฿33,900 is a 2024 sport cruiser taking twenty guests at thirty knots. Grand Banks Sambuca from ฿40,000 takes twenty on a wide trawler-style flybridge with a crew of four.

Mami Wata from ฿41,000 is a restored 1954 Halvorsen for twelve. Siam Princess from ฿55,000 carries fifty guests, more than any motor yacht here except the 170-foot Vanora. Bertram 50 from ฿56,000 is the steady one in open water.

Azimut 46 from ฿59,000 cruises at twenty-six knots for eight. Azimut Atlantis from ฿59,000 is the sports option for eleven. Princess V39 ANFIELD from ฿69,000 suits six.

Princess 54 from ฿77,000 runs from Ao Po Grand Marina and has a grill on the flybridge. Azimut 55 After 8 from ฿79,000 has a flybridge and twelve seats.

฿80,000 to ฿160,000: eleven yachts

The middle band is where most bookings land, and where our two Chalong yachts sit. Seascape 2 from ฿94,000 publishes a four-hour rate as well as full days. Jawsss from ฿94,400 is a teak-lined pilothouse yacht.

Happy Ours from ฿95,000 gives eight guests the space others give eighteen. De Antonio D50 from ฿95,000 tops out at forty-seven knots. The Origin 90 from ฿95,000 is a 90 ft Custom Woodcraft yacht for thirty guests by day and ten overnight, from Chalong Pier. Riva Aria Blue from ฿99,000 is the only Riva in the fleet.

From ฿160,000: nineteen yachts

The upper band opens with SPLO 74 Chowa from ฿160,000, which takes forty-five guests by day on one enormous deck, and Galeon 500 Fly from ฿162,700, a 2022 flybridge yacht for ten. Princess F55 RISA from ฿180,000 licenses eight guests on fifty-five feet, so nobody shares. Above that the yachts split into two classes compared on their own pages: twelve luxury yachts up to ninety-one feet, including all three of our yachts, and seven superyachts from ninety-two feet upward, which carry larger crews and start at ฿350,000.

How many guests fit

Capacity is a licensed figure per boat and it is printed on each yacht's page. Across motor yachts it runs from six to eighty. For six to ten guests the widest choice sits under ฿110,000.

For fifteen to twenty, look at Princess 65, Olympia 76, Beluga 88 and Seascape 2. For twenty-five to thirty, Technema 89 Say Yes and Ferretti 80 Sofia; The Origin 90 also takes thirty. Above thirty, four motor yachts qualify — Sea Bear at forty, SPLO 74 Chowa at forty-five, Siam Princess at fifty and Vanora at eighty — and beyond that the answer is a catamaran or two boats in company. A boat rated for twelve takes twelve, not fourteen, and the crew will not sail over the figure.

Which marina yours leaves from

Motor yachts are spread across four marinas, and that decides which islands are convenient. From Chalong Pier on the south coast the natural days are Coral Island, Maiton, the Racha group and Phi Phi. From Ao Po Grand Marina on the north-east it is Phang Nga Bay, Koh Hong, the Koh Yao islands and the Krabi side.

Boat Lagoon Marina and Royal Phuket Marina sit next to each other on the east coast and serve the same directions as Ao Po, with faster boats also reaching the southern islands. Your departure point follows the boat, not the other way round, and it is confirmed at booking with a map pin.
