About this boat
Twenty-six knots on a forty-six-foot yacht is the number that makes this Azimut interesting. Boats this size usually cruise at half that, and the extra pace changes what a day out of Ao Po Grand Marina can contain: Phang Nga Bay and Koh Hong in the morning is standard for this marina, but from here Maiton, the Racha islands and even Phi Phi — about an hour and a half away at this pace — come into range as a full day rather than an expedition. Built in 2008 and refitted in 2022, she carries eight guests by day and sleeps six in three cabins with two bathrooms, run by a crew of three. The Italian flybridge layout gives her a proper shaded upper deck above an air-conditioned saloon, so there is somewhere to go whichever way the weather turns.
For a group of eight that is a comfortable amount of boat rather than a tight one. The toy list is unusually complete for the price: a SUBLUE Navbow underwater scooter, a jet ski, an inflatable pool, paddleboards, snorkelling and fishing gear. At fifty-nine thousand baht for a day she sits in the bracket where most boats are either older or slower, and rarely both fast and well equipped. Who should look elsewhere: a group above eight, and anyone planning a party — the deck is built for a family, not a crowd, and there is no bar.
A note on how the speed is actually used: the captain will normally run hard on the first leg to reach the anchorage before the tour boats, then idle between stops. That is why a fast boat with a small guest list ends up with more time in the water than a slow boat with the same programme, and it is the single reason to pay for knots you will not notice while swimming.
