About this boat
A Bertram is built the way a working boat is built — heavy, deep-vee, meant to push through chop rather than skip over it — and that is exactly why this one is worth knowing about if you are booking from Chalong. The southern islands sit in open water, and on the days when the sea has some movement in it a 50-foot Bertram is noticeably steadier than lighter yachts of the same length. Built in 2007 and refitted in 2022, she cruises at 12 knots with 15 at the top: not fast, but from Chalong Pier the classic days do not need speed — Racha Yai, Coral Island, Maiton, or Phi Phi as the full-day run. She carries up to 13 guests by day and sleeps 6 overnight in a king-size cabin and two twins, with 2 bathrooms between them.
The layout is practical rather than showy. A large cockpit aft that is the working and social space, a saloon that stays cool, a flybridge above for the helm and the people who want the view. Snorkelling gear with fins and a tender are aboard; the tender matters at Racha and Coral, where the beach is worth landing on. Who books her: a family of six to ten who want a solid, unfussy day at sea from 56,000 baht for a half day and 62,000 for a full day to Coral, and couples doing an overnight to Racha or Phi Phi who care that the boat sleeps well at anchor.
Who should choose differently: guests who want glamour, an open sport deck or a lot of speed — the Bertram is a seaman's boat, and that is her appeal. One more thing worth knowing before booking: the deep hull that makes her steady also makes her wet in a following sea, so the flybridge is the better seat on a windy afternoon and the saloon the better one on the way home. The crew will tell you which without being asked.

How do you book and cancel?
- A 50% deposit confirms the booking.
- The balance is paid on the day of the charter.
- Cancellation 30 days or more before the charter: 100% refund of the deposit.
- Cancellation 29 days or less before the charter: the deposit is not refunded.

What are the charter hours?
- Full day 09:00–17:00 or 10:00–18:00; half day 08:00–12:00 or 14:30–18:30; fishing charters 08:30–16:30.
- Please be on time — the yacht returns at the agreed hour, and a late start shortens the trip rather than extending it.
- Programmes and timing depend on weather and sea conditions. If the weather makes the planned route unworkable, we agree what to do with you individually — there is no single fixed rule, and the options depend on the boat, the date and how far the plan has to change.
- If you ask to change the departure point, the relocation is agreed separately — the boat is berthed where it is berthed, and moving it costs time and fuel.
