About this boat
Pina Colada is the only sailing catamaran in this catalogue that takes guests overnight. The others in the fleet are day boats with a cabin or two for changing; this Nautitech from 2016 has three guest cabins plus a separate crew cabin, which is the arrangement that makes a multi-day trip work — the crew of three have their own space, so the boat does not feel shared. Six guests sleep aboard, fourteen come for a day, and there are two bathrooms. Sailing at seven knots is the point rather than the limitation here. On an overnight charter the passage is part of the holiday: the engine goes off, the boat leans gently into the wind, and the anchorage arrives when it arrives.
From Ao Po Grand Marina the sheltered water of Phang Nga Bay, Koh Hong and the Koh Yao islands is exactly the right cruising ground for that — short hops between quiet bays rather than long open crossings. A bright saloon, outdoor lounging areas, paddleboards, a SUBLUE Navbow underwater scooter, fishing and snorkelling equipment and an inflatable pool are aboard. Forty-five thousand baht. She is the answer for a family or two couples who want to sail and to sleep aboard without chartering something much larger. She is not the answer for a fast day trip, a big party, or the southern islands.
A word on what sailing actually asks of guests: nothing. The crew handles the rig, and the boat is chartered fully crewed, so no experience is needed. What changes is the pace of the day — under sail the boat moves with the wind rather than to a timetable, and guests who want to be somewhere by a particular hour will find a motor yacht less frustrating.
