Sambuca is a 53ft Grand Banks-style motor yacht, fully refitted in 2021, and the most affordable proper yacht in the Ao Po fleet: from ฿40,000 for a three-hour sunset and from ฿55,000 for a full day. Her spacious flybridge is where the day happens: a trawler-style boat like this has a high, wide upper deck with real shade, and on Sambuca that deck takes most of a group of 20 at once, which is why she is booked for birthdays and family days far more often than her price suggests. She cruises at 10 knots. That is slow by the standards of the sport yachts nearby, and it shapes the choice of route: from Ao Po Grand Marina the sensible days are Phang Nga Bay and Koh Hong, the Koh Yao islands, Naka and Khai — all close, all sheltered, all reachable without spending the day under way.
Koh Hong Krabi and Maiton are possible as longer days; Phi Phi is not her route. Two cabins sleep 4 overnight, and a crew of 4 — captain, two deckhands and a hostess — run the boat, which is a generous crew for her size and shows in how the day is served.
