Why this is the day most groups start with

Coral Island and Koh Maiton sit close to Phuket's south coast, and that changes the arithmetic of the day. The crossing is short, so the route does not demand a fast hull: a sailing catamaran at seven knots and a motor yacht at twenty both work. It is the one Chalong route where the whole fleet is available, which is also why the price range is the widest we publish for a single day.

The format is flexible in a way the longer routes are not. Half a day is enough to swim, snorkel and be back; a full day makes sense if you want both islands without hurrying.

How the day runs

Out of Chalong, then Coral or Maiton first depending on the slot. Coral Island is known for white sand, clear water and activity on the beach. Maiton is the quieter of the two: people snorkel straight off the boat and there are fewer people ashore.

What groups usually add: snorkelling over the reefs, swimming and beach time, a kayak or paddleboard where the boat carries them, and Promthep Cape on the longer format. Our sunset charters run two to three hours depending on the boat, carry no transfer, and are not scheduled in the peak period.

Seasons, with dates

Low season May to October carries the starting rates. High season November to April. Peak starts on 20 December. Its end date is set per yacht and runs from mid-January to the end of February, so read it off the rate table on the boat's page. A few boats publish a single all-year rate with a peak surcharge and no low-to-high split at all. Across the fleet high season is roughly a quarter above low, and peak adds more again. No separate New Year surcharge on top of peak.

Half day or full day? The crossing is short, so both work. Half a day suits swimming and snorkelling; a full day is for seeing both islands without hurrying. Half days are sold in the peak period on some boats and not on others — the rate table on the boat’s page is the answer.

Is it suitable with children? Yes. The boat is yours alone, life jackets are aboard on every charter, and the short crossing is easier than the long routes. Tell us in advance if anyone needs help boarding.

Is lunch included? On some boats yes, on others it is quoted separately. It is the one item that is not standard across the fleet, so ask about the boat you pick.
