Yacht charter in Phuket for a week: crewed motor yachts and catamarans in Thailand, the 7-day route and prices 2026/27
A yacht charter in Phuket for a week with Horizon Cruises Phuket costs from ฿380,000 for the whole boat with crew: seven days and six nights on the sailing catamaran Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42, eight guests in four cabins, low season, out of Ao Po Grand Marina. On a motor yacht the published seven-day rates run from ฿525,000 on Siam Princess 70 to ฿1,498,000 on the luxury yacht Beluga 88; on Technema 89 Say Yes and Ferretti 80 Sofia a week is quoted on request, with four days and three nights published at ฿720,000. Seven yachts in the catalogue of around 80 publish a 7 days / 6 nights rate in Thai baht, four more price the week in US dollars with an APA, and every charter is skippered: a licensed captain and crew live aboard, and nobody in your group needs a licence. The usual week is a loop along the Andaman coast of Thailand, Phang Nga Bay, the Krabi islands, Phi Phi and the Racha islands, with every night at anchor and the yacht back at its home marina, Chalong Pier or Ao Po, on day seven. Send the date and head count on WhatsApp or through the contacts page.
Key highlights
- Beluga 88, eight berths in four cabins, publishes ฿1,498,000 for seven days and six nights in low season and ฿2,097,200 in the peak; the Astrea 42 is the lowest published weekly rate in the catalogue.
- Guests on a week are counted by berths, not by day capacity: Say Yes carries thirty by day and sleeps eight; Siam Princess 70 sleeps the most of the yachts with a weekly rate, twelve guests in four cabins.
- The loop is short on distance, about 48 km from Phuket to the Phi Phi Islands and 27 km from Ao Po to the Krabi side, so a catamaran at seven knots covers it as well as a motor yacht at fourteen; the Similan Islands are the remote option, open from mid-October to mid-May.
- Captain and crew, fuel for the agreed route, passenger insurance, water, soft drinks, snorkel gear, towels and 7 % VAT are in every rate; meals, a chef and water toys differ by yacht, and national park fees are paid separately per person.
- Horizon Cruises Phuket holds 5.0 from 33 reviews on Google.
What a week on a crewed yacht in Thailand actually is
A week is the overnight cruise at its natural length. A day charter returns to the pier the same evening; a week adds the distance that two or three nights cannot buy. Every vessel in the catalogue is chartered whole with a professional crew: a skipper, deckhands, and on the larger yachts a hostess, a chef and a charter manager. There is no bareboat option and no licence is needed from the guests; you choose the pace and the stops within a route agreed with the captain, who has the final say on weather and navigation, and the day runs at your ease. Phuket is the yachting hub of Southeast Asia for this kind of charter experience, with four departure points and crewed yachts from sailing catamarans to a 170 ft superyacht.
Two numbers on each yacht's page decide who can come. Day capacity is the licensed number for a daytime trip; overnight capacity is the number of berths in guest cabins, usually far lower. Say Yes takes thirty guests by day and sleeps eight in four cabins; Sofia takes twenty-five and sleeps eight; Beluga takes twenty-two and sleeps eight. Count everyone staying the night, children included, and ask for the cabin plan: double or twin beds, which cabins share a bathroom, and whether the crew's quarters are separate.
Charter rates for a week in Phuket: the yachts that publish a seven-day price
Horizon Cruises Phuket quotes a week per yacht for the named vessel and dates, in Thai baht, with the park fees listed separately. The seven below publish a 7 days / 6 nights figure on their page, by season; the rest of the multi-day fleet publishes two to five days and quotes a longer duration from those steps. Low season runs May to October, high season November to April, and the peak around New Year, 20 December to 20 January on our three yachts, has separate dates on other vessels and is shown in the third column.
| Yacht | Type, length | Sleeps, cabins | Marina | Low season | High season | Peak |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Beluga 88 | Motor yacht, 88 ft | 8 in 4 | Ao Po Grand Marina | ฿1,498,000 | ฿1,872,500 | ฿2,097,200 |
| Riva 70 Aria Blue | Motor yacht, 70 ft | 6 in 3 | Ao Po Grand Marina | ฿1,050,000 | ฿1,120,000 | ฿1,190,000 |
| Leopard 51 Aurora | Power catamaran, 51 ft | 8 in 4 | Chalong Pier | ฿667,900 | ฿696,900 | ฿730,900 |
| Jawsss | Motor yacht, 61 ft | 6 in 3 | Royal Phuket Marina | ฿640,500 | ฿661,500 | ฿714,000 (Similan route) |
| Siam Princess 70 | Motor yacht, 70 ft | 12 in 4 | Ao Po Grand Marina | ฿525,000 | ฿595,000 | ฿665,000 |
| Lagoon 450 St Anna | Sailing catamaran, 45 ft | 8 in 4 | Chalong Pier | ฿414,900 | ฿467,900 | ฿527,900 |
| Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42 | Sailing catamaran, 42 ft | 8 in 4 | Ao Po Grand Marina | ฿380,000 | ฿415,000 | ฿450,000 |
Seasons follow each yacht's page: on Aurora and St Anna low season is June to October and high season November to May; on the Astrea low season is 2 March to 30 November and the peak is 26 December to mid-January; on Jawsss low season runs to November and the third column is its Similan rate rather than a peak. Each figure is for the whole yacht with the number of guests shown.
Say Yes, Sofia and Beluga 88
Beluga is the one of the three with a full weekly table. Built in 2014 and renovated in 2026, she sleeps eight in four cabins, two king, one queen and one twin, with five bathrooms and a crew of five, and leaves from Ao Po Grand Marina on the north-east coast, the gateway to Phang Nga Bay. She anchors on solar power with the air conditioning on, so the night is quiet, and her multi-day rates climb in even steps from ฿428,000 for two days and one night; the chef and meals on an overnight charter are quoted separately. Say Yes and Sofia publish high-season figures for two, three and four days, ฿360,000, ฿540,000 and ฿720,000, with a private chef and all meals in the rate, and list five to seven days as on request: the week is priced from those steps for your dates. Both board at Chalong Pier on the south coast, which puts the Racha islands and Phi Phi closest. Say Yes has three king-size cabins and a twin; Sofia, refitted in 2025, has two king and two twin cabins and is the fastest of the three at fourteen knots.
Aurora, the Astrea and St Anna: catamarans for the same loop
Leopard 51 Aurora is the power catamaran of the group: four double cabins for eight guests, based at Chalong Pier, with a table that runs to eight days and seven nights at ฿765,900 in low season. The Astrea is the lowest published entry to a week, with four cabins and four bathrooms for eight, and her seven-day row is labelled around the Andaman Sea. Meals on the Astrea are not in the rate: the menu on board is ฿500 per guest for each day for groups of six or more, and a personal chef is ฿4,000 for each day. Lagoon 450 St Anna, built in 2014 and refitted in 2024, is the other way to sail the week from Chalong: her overnight rates include a private chef and all meals, water toys and travel insurance.
Yachts without a published seven-day figure, and the ones priced in US dollars
Pina Colada 40, the cheapest night afloat in the catalogue, publishes up to six days and five nights at ฿300,000 in low season for six guests in three cabins with all meals; a seventh day is quoted from that table, as on the motor yachts that publish five days and four nights. At the top of the fleet the week is sold the way it is sold worldwide: Westport 130 Sea Bear, ten guests in five cabins from Ao Po, and the Sunreef 60 Eco E-MOTION, eight guests and no day charters at all, publish a seven-night rate in US dollars plus an APA, the provisioning allowance explained in the questions below; Princess S72 KATI S and Princess S65 KATI from Royal Phuket Marina use the same terms. We convert them to one final figure in baht for your dates.
The 7-day route: Phang Nga Bay, Krabi, the Phi Phi Islands and Racha
The standard week is the three-day loop extended south and east, with the destination areas a short charter has to skip. The distances are short: Koh Hong in Phang Nga Bay is 18 km from Ao Po, Hong Island on the Krabi side 27 km, Railay 44 km, Phi Phi 48 km from Chalong and 54 km from Ao Po, Racha Yai 26 km south of Chalong and Racha Noi 37 km. The itinerary below is the base; the skipper sets the anchorages for the wind and the tide.
| Day | Area | Stops | Night |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Phang Nga Bay | Board at Ao Po or Chalong in the morning; Koh Hong and its lagoon by kayak, James Bond Island as a pass-by, Koh Panyee | At anchor among the limestone islands of the bay |
| 2 | Krabi, north | Hong Island (Krabi) with its inner lagoon, Koh Lao Lading, Koh Pak Bia | Off Hong Island, the sheltered side |
| 3 | Krabi, south | Railay Beach and Phra Nang, Poda, Chicken Island, Tup | Off Railay |
| 4 | Phi Phi | Phi Phi Leh for Maya Bay and the Pileh lagoon before the day boats, Phi Phi Don, Bamboo Island | Phi Phi Don |
| 5 | Koh Ha and Koh Rok | In season only: the arch and reefs of Koh Ha, snorkelling at Koh Rok at first light next morning | Koh Rok, or a second night at Phi Phi from May to October |
| 6 | Racha islands | Racha Noi for clear water, Racha Yai and Siam Bay | Racha Yai |
| 7 | Home | Coral Island or Maiton, swim and lunch, alongside at Chalong or Ao Po by the afternoon | None |
Day one is the scenery day: the bay is enclosed by islands, so it stays calm when the west coast is rough, and it works in every month; the captain passes James Bond Island rather than landing, because the tour boats fill it by eleven. Days two and three explore the Krabi side, from the inner lagoon of Hong Island to Railay, a peninsula with no road to it. Day four is Phi Phi, where an early start pays off most, since the ferries arrive between ten and eleven. Day five is the long leg south to Koh Ha and Koh Rok, about 106 km from Chalong, which is why the site plans them as a two-day charter: the yacht anchors overnight and the snorkelling starts at first light. Those islands open from mid-October to May, so in the rainy months the week stays on the sheltered east side and gives Phi Phi a second night instead. Days six and seven come back past Racha Noi, for the diving spots, and Racha Yai, for the beach, and finish with Coral Island or Maiton, a well-kept spot to relax before Chalong.
The other week: the Similan Islands in season
Between 15 October and mid-May the same seven days can go north instead. The Similan Islands are about 119 km from Chalong Pier and are planned only as a charter of two days or more, with nights aboard and mooring buoys at the dive sites. Not every vessel goes: Jawsss, Riva 70 Aria Blue and Maha Bhetra list Similan itineraries on their pages. The marine park is the most visited in Thailand in its open season, and the park fee is paid on arrival, per person, at the figure we confirm with your quote, unless the yacht's page lists it in the rate. Send your dates and we check the park calendar and the yachts whose plan covers the passage.
Which yacht for a week: motor yacht, power catamaran or sailing catamaran
Three things decide the choice: how many of you sleep aboard, how fast you want to move, and how much of the day you want the crew to run. A motor yacht in the 70 to 90 ft class, Beluga, Say Yes, Sofia, Riva 70 Aria Blue or Siam Princess 70, gives separate air-conditioned cabins with bathrooms, a saloon with a dining table, a flybridge deck and a crew of four to five that serves the day rather than just drives it. Siam Princess 70 is the one for a larger family group, twelve guests in four cabins with all meals in the rate. A power catamaran such as Aurora adds wide decks on a 51 ft hull, four double cabins and the comfort of two hulls at anchor. Sailing yachts and catamarans, the Astrea, St Anna, Pina Colada 40 or Lagoon 56 OO7, are the slowest and the cheapest: seven knots under sail on the Pina Colada, and the best spots reached under sail rather than passed. Ask the questions a hotel would answer before you choose: air conditioning overnight, fresh water for showers, generator hours, realistic Wi-Fi offshore, a swim platform or a paddle board, and whether the galley can cover a diet or you will dine ashore at a beach restaurant on Phi Phi Don. At the reefs every captain picks up a mooring buoy and never anchors on coral.
What the weekly rate includes, and what you pay separately
Every charter in the catalogue, ours and partner yachts alike, includes the captain and crew, fuel for the agreed route except where a yacht's page lists a fuel fee, passenger insurance, water, soft drinks and ice, tea, coffee and fruit, snorkel gear, life jackets, towels, and 7 % VAT inside the rate. The rest is set yacht by yacht. Meals: St Anna, Siam Princess 70, Riva 70 Aria Blue, Pina Colada 40 and Jawsss include a chef or full board on overnight charters; Say Yes and Sofia include a private chef and all meals; Beluga does not include the chef or the meals, the chef is listed at ฿10,000, and the Astrea prices the menu per guest. SUP boards, a tender and fishing equipment are in the rate on Aurora, St Anna and the three large yachts; a slide, a floating pool or an underwater scooter carry a price where they cost extra. Transfer from the hotel depends on the yacht and is stated on its page. The general list is on the what is included page, and each yacht's page is the one that counts.
Paid separately on every yacht: national park fees, charged per person at the rate confirmed with the quote, unless the page lists them in the rate; alcohol beyond what the page names; guests above the number in the rate, for example ฿2,000 each above twelve on Say Yes and Sofia by day; and the APA on the yachts that charter on those terms. A week starts and ends at the home marina unless you pay to reposition her.
Seasons, weather and the dates that go first
November to April is the dry season on the Andaman Sea: flat water, visibility to snorkel, a secluded beach stop at Racha Noi or Bamboo Island without the crowds, and the full choice of routes, the Similans included. May to October brings the lower rates in the table, a swell on the west coast, and a captain who keeps the week in Phang Nga Bay, the Krabi islands and Phi Phi, reordering the days for the weather; the plan stays flexible, and that flexibility is the point of a private yacht. The peak around New Year is quoted separately on every yacht. On Say Yes, Sofia and Beluga bookings for the peak dates are non-refundable; the payment terms of every other vessel are on its page. A week in the peak is booked two to three months ahead. If the weather closes the planned route, the alternative is agreed with you on the day.
If a week is too long: two, three and four days from Phuket
Forty-four yachts in the catalogue publish an overnight rate, from ฿100,000 for two days and one night on the Pina Colada in low season, and thirty-five publish three days and two nights, from ฿150,000 on the same catamaran and from ฿195,000 on the Grand Banks Sambuca. Each added day costs less than the first: on the Astrea the steps are ฿105,000, ฿160,000, ฿215,000 and ฿270,000 for two to five days in low season, so her week costs less than four times her two-day rate. The short loops are on the overnight yacht charter and 3-day yacht charter pages with every rate, and the full price list is on the yacht charter prices page.
How to book a week on a yacht with Horizon Cruises Phuket
Send the dates, the number of guests sleeping aboard and the ages of any children on WhatsApp or through the contacts page. You get the yachts that are free for those dates with the cabin plan of each and one final figure in Thai baht, in writing, with the park fees listed separately, before anything is paid. The deposit follows the yacht's page: most take half of the price to confirm and the balance before departure, some are paid in full at booking, and the APA yachts add the allowance to the balance. Payment is by card, bank transfer, cash or USDT, in baht, dollars or roubles, and the boarding point and time come with a map pin. Horizon Cruises Phuket has arranged Phuket yacht hire since 2013, and a viewing at the berth is free before you pay.

From mid-October to mid-May the week can go north to the Similan Islands instead on the yachts whose plan covers the passage.

No. Every charter Horizon Cruises Phuket offers is skippered: a licensed captain and crew are aboard for the whole week, there is no bareboat option, and guests need no licence or sailing experience.
Are meals included on a weekly charter?
It depends on the yacht. St Anna, Siam Princess 70, Riva 70 Aria Blue, Pina Colada 40, Jawsss, Say Yes and Sofia include a chef or full board; Beluga 88 quotes the chef and meals separately, and the Astrea 42 lists a menu per guest or a personal chef at ฿4,000 for each day. When should we book a week in high season?
Two to three months ahead for the peak around New Year, when the three large yachts take non-refundable bookings; Chinese New Year and Songkran go next. In low season, May to October, the Thai islands are quieter and the same yachts are at the lowest rate in the table.
